Mentha oil rises 0.69% on spot demand

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5.80, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 841 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions, driven by firming trend at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for November delivery rose Rs 5.80, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 841 per kg, with a trading volume of 44 lots.

The oil for delivery in September got up by Rs 5.10, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 818.20 per kg, with a trading of 414 lots, while October contract inched up by Rs five, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 829.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 119 lots.

Analysts said firming trend at the physical markets on pharma and other consuming units demand, mainly influenced the mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
