Mentha oil futures gained Rs 9.70 to Rs 1,152.80 per kg today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November was up by Rs 9.70, or 0.84%, to Rs 1,152.80 per kg, with a business volume of 235 lots.

The October contract traded higher by Rs 8.20, or 0.72%, to Rs 1,139 per kg, with a trading volume of 1,149 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by traders supported by the pick up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
