Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 25.90 to Rs 1,225 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in industrial demand at spot market.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained Rs 25.90, or 2.15%, to Rs 1,225 per kg, with a trading volume of 627 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 22.90, or 1.87%, to Rs 1,241.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 156 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by traders following pick up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
