Mentha oil prices rose for the third straight day and gained Rs 13.30 to Rs 1,473.60 per kg in futures market today on the back of increased demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 13.30, or 0.91%, to Rs 1,473.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 634 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in February moved up by Rs 12.70, or 0.85%, to Rs 1,501 per kg, with an open interest of 433 lots.
Marketmen said strong spot demand from pharmaceutical units against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly helped mentha oil futures prices to trade higher.
