Mentha oil prices continued to rise and added Rs 16.10 to trade at Rs 1,382.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions amid strong domestic and export demand.

At the MCX, mentha oil for delivery in June gained Rs 16.10, or 1.17%, to Rs 1,382.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 874 lots.

The July contract edged up by Rs 15, or 1.08%, to Rs 1,397.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 218 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets on domestic and export demand, amid restricted supplies from producing regions mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
