Mentha oil sheds 0.21% on profit-booking

Stock build-up due to higher arrivals from key supplying region add to pressure on the commodity

Mentha oil prices fell by 0.21 per cent to Rs 843.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking amid subdued spot demand.

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh added to the pressure onthe commodity.
    
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December fell by Rs 1.80, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 843.50 per kg, with a business volume of 202 lots.

The January contract drifted by Rs 1.70, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 855.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 79 lots.
    
The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, traders said.
