Mentha oil prices declined by 1.04 per cent to Rs 791.10 per kg in futures trading today, amid profit-booking by speculators and low spot demand.

In addition, adequate stocks position in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 8.30, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 791.10 per kg in business turnover of 235 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contract declined by Rs 7.80, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 778.00 per kg in 348 lots.

The slide in mentha oil prices in futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market, analysts said.
