Mentha oil surges 3 on industrial demand

Lower arrivals from Chandausi also supported upside

Mentha oil prices surged by 3% to Rs 1,030.80 per kg in futures trading today as traders enlarged their positions amid strong industrial demand.

Besides, lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, also supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract surged by Rs 30, or 3%, to Rs 1,030.80 per kg in 82 lots.

The June contract shot up by Rs 10.50, or 1.09% to Rs 974.40 per kg in 398 lots.

Market analysts said rising demand from consuming industries in spot markets and restricted supplies from producing regions, influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
