Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 7.20 to Rs 967 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 7.20, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 967 per kg, with a business volume of 64 lots.

Mentha oil futures prices for delivery in March fell by Rs 6.10, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 1,196 per kg, with a trading volume of 1,601 lots.

Similarly, prices for delivery in April eased by Rs 5.40, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 1,079.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 291 lots.

Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures prices to profit-booking by speculators in tandem with a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.
