Mentha oil futures rose 0.15% to Rs 854 per kg in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on rising demand from consuming industries and restricted arrivals from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June moved up by Rs 1.30, or 0.15%, to Rs 854 per kg in a business turnover of 209 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in May edged up by Rs 1.20, or 0.14%, to Rs 842.20 per kg in 363 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries amid lower arrivals in spot markets from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures trade.
