Mentha oil remained up for the second day as prices rose further by 0.16% to Rs 856.50 per kg in futures trading today on the back of pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May added Rs 1.40, or 0.16%, to Rs 856.50 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April edged up by 70 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 844 per kg in 115 lots.

Analysts said apart from pick-up in demand from consuming industries, tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures trade for the second day.
