Mentha oil up 0.2% on strong demand

Analysts said strong demand from consuming industreis at spot markets against restricted supplies from growing regions, influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade

Continued its rising streak for the third straight session, mentha oil gained 0.28% to Rs 834.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, supported by strong demand from consuming industries.

Further, tight stocks in the physical market due to restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December gained Rs 2.30, or 0.28% to Rs 834.80 per kg in business turnover of 67 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January edged up by Rs 1.80, or 0.21% to Rs 845.50 per kg in 40 lots.
