Mentha oil up 0.5% on firm demand

Mentha oil futures prices rose by Rs 7.40 to Rs 1,562.60 per kg today, on pick-up in industrial and export demand in the spot market.

Tight stocks position in the physical market following restricted arrival from the growing belts of Chandausi,in Uttar Pradesh which also supported the rise in mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 7.40, or 0.48%, to Rs 1,562.60 per kg in business turnover of 43 lots.

The February contract moved up by Rs 5.70, or 0.37%, to Rs 1,544 per kg in 256 lots.

Analysts said pick-up in industrial and export demand against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to rise in mentha oil futures price.
