Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5.40 to Rs 846.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in creating positions on firm export and spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for October rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.64%, to Rs 846.70 per kg, with a business volume of 296 lots.
The oil for November delivery rose by Rs 5.10, or 0.59%, to Rs 859 per kg, with a trading volume of 52 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in mentha oil at futures trade to pick-up in overseas and domestic demand at spot markets amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
