Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 2.10, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 729.30 per kg in futures trade today, as traders indulged in profit-booking at existing higher prices amid fall in demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange encounter, mentha oil for August-month contract declined by Rs 2.10, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 729.30 per kg, with a business volume of 220 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September contract eased by Rs 1.90, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 741.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 279 lots, while October contract fell by Rs 1.80, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 751.10 per kg, with a turnover of 49 lots.
