Menthol declines on subdued demand

Menthol prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in New Delhi today owing to subdued demand from consuming units, amid adequate stocks.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by consuming units, against increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices.

Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,300, Rs 1,280 and Rs 1,230 per kg, respectively.

Ammonium chloride (50 kg), Rs 1,000-2,200, acetic acid (1 kg) Rs 35-40, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 430-450, boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 3,400-3,800, borex granular (50 kg) Rs 1,800-2,000.

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 1,150-1,250, citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 3,000-3,400, citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 3,100-3,400, camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 440, camphor powder (1kg) Rs 430, glycerine (1 kg) Rs 120-130, hexamine (1 kg) Rs 82, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 33-35, mercury (34.5 kg) Rs 90,000, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 1,300, menthol flake (1kg) Rs 1,280 and mentha oil (1 kg) Rs 1,230.
