Metal, realty indices lead bounceback

Metal, realty indices continue to lead the bounceback. The Sensex is firm at 16,242, up 219 points and the NSE Nifty is up 65 points at 4,871.

Among the Sensex-30 pack, Hindalco Industries, Sterlite Industries, DLF and Tata Motors have advanced over 3% each to Rs 142, Rs 627, Rs 264 and Rs 694, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank TCS, Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Steel and Mahindra & Mahindra, up over 2% each.

ACC is down 1% at Rs 835 and Hindalco Industries is flat at Rs 229.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,434 shares traded, 1,771 have advanced and 586 have declined so far on the BSE.

The BSE midcap and the smallcap indices are up 1.5% each at 6,573 and 8,302, respectively.

All the sectoral indices are in green, metal and realty indices lead the rally, up over 2% each.

The other major sectoral gainers are IT, auto and oil&gas indices are up 1.5% each.
