According to data available from Value Research, compared to just one or two equity schemes declaring dividends in March and April, more schemes have declared dividends in June, July and August.

The dividends declared vary between 5 per cent and 25 per cent in June, while in the following month the dividends have been as high as 30 per cent.

In August the Birla MNC Fund declared a dividend of 50 per cent. Industry sources pointed out that the rally in stock markets has obviously translated into returns for fund investors.

Funds have also been careful to book profits at every rise and allow their investors to participate in the gains.
