The 30-share BSE sensitive index (Sensex), which swinged in a wide range of around 106 points, shed 49.10 points, or 0.99 per cent, at 4,891.13, thus snapping its two-day winning streak.
The Sensex hit an intraday high of 4,981.48 and a low of 4,975.46. Meanwhile, the broader NSE S&P CNX Nifty index shed 15.50 points to 1,564.40.
