The stocks of companies engaged in the oil and natural gas business have largely gained in last three months on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) rose from Rs 67.30 on August 2, to today's close of Rs 90.80, up 34.92 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
During the same period the stock price of Petronet LNG rose from Rs 22.95 to Rs 23.70 up by a meagre 3.27per cent, Chennai Petro rose from Rs 141.00 up 53.72 per cent, to Rs 216.75 and Essar Oil rose from Rs 15.45 to Rs 19.85 up 28.48 per cent.
 
Share price of Bharat Petroleum rose from Rs 348.90 to Rs 349.35 up 0.13 per cent, while HPCL ended rather flat from Rs 322.20 to Rs 322.60 up 0.12 per cent. Indian Oil rose from Rs 420.15 to Rs 433.75 up by 3.24 per cent.
 
The refining companies, Bongaigaon Refinery rose from Rs 67.30 to Rs 90.80 up by 34.92 per cent, Kochi Refineries rose from Rs 157.25 to Rs 197.35 up 25.50 per cent and MRPL declined from Rs 46.60 to Rs 44.70, down by 4.08 per cent.
