The Ambuja Cement Eastern stock firmed up from Rs 31.20 to Rs 37.60, up 20.51 per cent and Dalmia Cem (Bharat) rose from Rs 215.15 to Rs 231.85, up 7.76 per cent.
Gujarat Sidhee Cement inched up from Rs 6.70 to Rs 6.82, or 1.79 per cent and OCL India jumped from Rs 155.25 to Rs 220.10, up 41.77 per cent. Prism Cement rose from Rs 9.50 to Rs 10.35, up 8.95 per cent, while Shree Cement appreciated from Rs 97.10 to Rs 119.55, or 23.12 per cent.
Smaller companies have witnessed a depreciation in their stock prices during the same period. Share price of Priyadarshini Cement declined from Rs 17.46 to Rs 13.65, Sagar Cements from Rs 10.32 to Rs 7, Saurashtra Cement slipped from Rs 12.49 to Rs 10.41 and Shiva Cement declined from Rs 2.05 to Rs 1.95.
Shree Digvijay Cement slipped from Rs 41.00 to Rs 30.40, Ambuja Cement Rajasthan from Rs 6.40 to Rs 5.96 and Anjani Portland fell from Rs 8.20 to Rs 5. Chettinad Cement eased from Rs 78.95 to Rs 73.65. And Deccan Cements declined from Rs 44.10 to Rs 37 and Kakatiya Cements from Rs 47.25 to Rs 41.65.
Katwa Udyog declined from Rs 3.25 to Rs 2.40, Mangalam Cement from Rs 12.70 to Rs 11.61, Mysore Cements from Rs 11.47 to Rs 9.01 and NCL Ind from Rs 8.70 to Rs 6.57. Other losers were KCP from Rs 23.05 to Rs 20.10 and Panyam Cements from Rs 64.15 to Rs 40.85.
