The stocks of companies engaged in the metals business have had a mixed run in the last three months from October 2004 to January 2005 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Binani Industries rose from Rs 25.70 on October 1, to today's close of Rs 31.40, up 22.17 per cent on the BSE.
 
During the same period the stock price of Hindustan Copper slid from Rs 38.95 to Rs 38, down by 2.43 per cent.
 
However, Hindustan Zinc increased from Rs 113.15 to Rs 141.60, up 25.14 per cent. Precision Wires gained from Rs 59.65 to Rs 85.05, up 42.58 per cent.
 
Share price of Shivalik Bimetal Controls gained from Rs 135.25 to Rs 265.10, up 96 per cent. Sterlite Industries declined from Rs 611.65 to Rs 593.90, down 2.98 per cent, and SWIL from Rs 16.60 to Rs 13.82.
 
Tata company Tinplate rose from Rs 44.80 to Rs 47.25 and Ram Ratna Wires from Rs 11.40 to Rs 17.95. Gujarat Intrux gained from Rs 16.75 to Rs 21.20.
