The Asian markets have started on a mixed note on the back of mixed cues from Wall Street and fresk worries over European debt troubles after Moody’s Investor Service downgraded Portugal’s sovereign ratings.
Among the indices trading in the red are Shanghai Composite down 0.7%,Hang Seng and NZSE losing 0.4% and 0.3% respectively.
On the other hand, the indices trading in the green are Taiwan Weighted being the top gainer, up 0.3% and Nikkei gaining nearly 0.2%.
Jakarta Composite and KLSE Composite are trading flat with a positive bias.
