Mixed trend in copra prices

Copra Rajapur and Copra edible prices declined in a mixed trend at the spices market here today on reduced buying from stockists and retailers amid increased arrivals. Meanwhile, Copra Alapuzha moved up modestly owing to fresh buying support.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 5,200 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 5,300 and copra edible Mumbai also lost another Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 4,275 as against Rs 4,325 previously.

However, Copra  Alapuzha rose up by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,650 from Rs 3,600 yesterday. Other spices ruled steady.

Following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black Pepper (per kilo) 171/191 (171/191), ginger bleached (per kilo) 190 (190), ginger unbleached (per kilo) 210 (210), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 3650 (3600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 3425 (3425), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 5200 (5300) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4275 (4325)
