Moderate rise in groundnut oil on fresh demand

Groundnut oil moved up moderately at the oils and oilseeds market here today due to fresh demand from stockists and retailers amidst poor arrivals from producing centres.

Refined palmolein, however, eased on poor offtake coupled with lower Malaysia advices. 

Linseed oil strengthened further due to sustained demand from paint and allied industries. Meanwhile, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial declined reduced industrial demand.

Castorseeds futures witnessed wide movements, though it ended steady.

In the edible oil segment, groundnut oil firmed up by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 755 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 750 while refined palmolein slipped by Rs 2 to Rs 523 from Rs 525 previously. 

Moving to non-edible section, linseedoil hardened by Rs 10 per 10 kgs to Rs 600 from overnight closing level of Rs 590.

However, castorseeds bold moved down by Rs 10 to Rs 3,905 per 100 kgs as against Rs 3,915 and castoroil commercial also looked down by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 811 from Rs 813.

Turning to futures section, castorseeds December delivery resumed lower at Rs 3,663 and traded in a range of Rs 3,689 and Rs 3,660 before ending steady at its overnight level of Rs 3,685 per tonne.
