Moong, masoor rise on retailers demand

Moong and masoor prices rose up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in retailers demand, driven by the ongoing marriage season.

Other commodities, however, held steady in the absence of worthwhile activity.

Traders said pick up in retailers demand on account of ongoing marriage season mainly pushed up wholesale prices of moong and masoor small prices.

In the national capital, moong rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4,300-4,700, while its dal chilka local gained Rs 100 to Rs 5,400-5,800 per quintal.

Moong dal dhoya local and best quality were also traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,700-5,900 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal. 

Masoor small and bold followed suit and gained Rs 50 each to Rs 3,250-3,450 and Rs 3,400-3,650 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality went up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,000 and Rs 4,150-4,450 per quintal.
