Mustardseed prices inched up by Rs 3.95 or 0.76 per cent to Rs 521.90 per 20 kg in futures trade today on increased buying by traders, with firming spot market sentiment.
Marketmen said increased offtake by oil mills from Kolkata, Bihar and Orissa amid short supply in physical markets led to a rise in mustardseed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustardseed prices for September-month contract gained by Rs 3.95, or 0.76 per cent to Rs 521.90 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 200 lots.
June-month contract also went up by Rs 2.30, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 506.75 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 1,16,760 lots.
