Mustardseed futures up on strong physical demand

Mustardseed prices showed a positive trend and imrpoved by Rs 26 to Rs 2,935 per quintal in the future market today on the back of low supply and brisk buying in spot markets.  

Market analysts said reduced arrivals against heavy demand from vanaspati units and mustard oil-consuming industries, boosted the trading sentiments here in future trade. 

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustardseed for April month contract gained Rs 26, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 2,935 per quintal, with an open interest of 30,770 lots.

Near May-month contract also improved by Rs 25, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 2,972 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 25,680 lots.
