Mustardseed prices went up by Rs 23 to Rs 2,737 per quintal in futures trading today on firm spot market sentiment.
Marketmen said stockist and retailers increased stocks ahead of festivals like 'Dussehra' and 'Diwali', which pushed up the mustardseed prices.
Better offtake by oil mills and vanaspati ghee making industries also supported the upsurge, they quoted.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, October mustardseed rose by Rs 23, or 0.85%, to Rs 2,737 per quintlal, with an open interest 74,460 lots.
The November contract gained Rs 18, or 0.64%, to Rs 2,821 per quintal, with an open interest of 72,060 lots.
