Nickel down 0.2% on overseas trend

Prices dropped due to sluggish demand from alloy-makers

Nickel futures for May dropped by Rs 1.90, or 0.21%, to Rs 885.70 per kg in 132 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract fell by Rs 1.60, or 0.18%, to Rs 877.40 per kg in 1,475 lots.

Prices dropped due to sluggish demand from alloy-makers in the domestic spot market.

At the London Metal Exchange (LME), nickel dropped 0.80% to $15,980 a tonne.

Weakening trend in base metals at LME as worse-than-estimated US economic data spurred concern that growth is slowing in the world's second- biggest user affected the Nickel futures here.
