At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in May fell Rs 3.40, or 0.31%, to Rs 1,104.70 per kg in a business turnover of 603lots.

Analysts said the fall in nickel prices at futures trade was mostly in tandem with a weakening trend in the base metals at the London Metal Exchange after manufacturing in April expanded less than estimated in China, the biggest consumer of the metals.

Besides, subdued demand at domestic spot markets from alloy-makers put pressure on metal prices, they said.
