Nickel futures eased 0.42% to Rs 690 per kg today as participants reduced their exposure amid a weak trend overseas.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in November fell Rs 2.90, or 0.42%, to Rs 690 per kg in a business turnover of 583 lots.
The metal for delivery in October fell Rs 2.60, or 0.38%, to trade at Rs 683.50 per kg in a turnover of 1,739 lots.
Market analysts said besides subdued spot demand at the domestic market, a weak trend in base metals overseas ahead of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, weighed on nickel futures prices here.
