Nickel prices dropped in an otherwise mixed non-ferrous metal market here today on heavy offloading by stockists in view of an all-round bearish trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Elsewhere, brass, zinc and select copper declined on subdued industrial offtake.
Meanwhile, tin, aluminium, copper sheet cutting and copper scrap heavy rose owing good demand from consumer industries.
Nickel slumped by Rs 25 per kilo to Rs 1,185 from its overnight closing level of Rs 1,210. Brass sheet cutting fell by Rs 3 per kilo to Rs 285 as against 288 yesterday.
Zinc, copper cable scrap, copper armiture and copper wire bar all softened by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 126, Rs 425, Rs 402 and Rs 453 respectively.
However, tin jumped by Rs 20 per kilo to Rs 1,345 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,325.
Aluminium utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 101 and Rs 397 as compared to Rs 98 and Rs 394 previously.
Copper scrap heavy edged up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 415 from Rs 413.
