Nickel futures prices rose by Rs 7.10, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 1,106.20 per kg today on an increased demand from alloy makers, supported by a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, nickel delivery for December rose by Rs 7.10, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 1,106.20 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in October gained Rs 6.70, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 1091.10 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Analysts said fresh positions were created by speculators on rising demand from alloy makers amid firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME), which led to a rise in nickel futures prices.
Meanwhile, nickel advanced 0.6 per cent to $24,550 a metric tonne on the LME.
