Nickel prices rose by Rs 10.10 to Rs 1,282.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick-up in demand from alloy makers in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, nickel for delivery in February rose by Rs 10.10, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 1,282.30 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March moved up by Rs 9.80, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 1,288 per kg, with an open interest of just one lot.
Market analysts said pick up in demand from consuming industries, influenced nickel futures prices here.
