The Sensex is now up 400 points at 14,192.
The NSE Nifty is up 103 points at 4,293.
The Sensex after opening with a positive gap of 215 points continues to display strength today. The index is now up over 400 points in early noon trades. The market breadth is also fairly positive with advancing shares beating declines in nearly 3:1 ratio.
Out of 2,472 stocks traded so far, 1,768 have advanced, 632 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
HDFC has soared nearly 7% to Rs 2,250. Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have surged over 6% each to Rs 621 and Rs 1,091, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure has rallied over 5% to Rs 955. ICICI Bank has gained 4.6% at Rs 636.

Tata Power and BHEL have moved up 4.3% each to Rs 1,089 and Rs 1,660, respectively.
Wipro, Bharti Airtel and Ranbaxy have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 419, Rs 809 and Rs 493, respectively.
SBI, Reliance Communications and Grasim are up around 3.5% each at Rs 1,369, Rs 508 and Rs 1,850, respectively.
ACC, Satyam, DLF and Reliance have moved up around 3% each to Rs 588, Rs 380, Rs 486 and Rs 2,146, respectively.
NTPC has dropped nearly 4% to Rs 172, and ITC has shed 1.4% at Rs 187.
