After the opening-bell surge and a range-bound mid-morning session, the Sensex has edged higher in current trades following fresh buying in select heavyweight, auto and other old economy stocks. The Sensex has advanced 61 points to 6,664. The Nifty has pierced the 2,100 mark on strong buying support to 2,103 - up 23 points.Reliance has moved up a per cent (Rs 5) to Rs 539. ITC is up Rs 3 at Rs 1,313, and HLL is still up a rupee at Rs 144.Bharti continues to attract buying support, and has shot up 3.83% (Rs 8) to Rs 223. While Hindalco has trimmed its gains on profit-taking to Rs 1,450 - up Rs 23 or 1.61%, Tisco is up nearly 1.31% (Rs 5) at Rs 390. Hero Honda has jumped 2.78% (Rs 16) to Rs 587. Bajaj at Rs 1,151 (up Rs 20 or 1.73%) is holding on to its gains. While Tata Motors has advanced 2.74% (Rs 14) to Rs 519, Maruti has inched up 1.68% (Rs 8) to Rs 469.HPCL has gained 2.20% (Rs 9) to Rs 409, while Reliance Energy has added 2.59% (Rs 14) to Rs 538. Tata Power is up nearly 2% (Rs 7) at Rs 398.Infosys has pared gains on profit-taking to Rs 2,100 - up Rs 11. Wipro and Satyam are still trading flat at Rs 749 and Rs 410, respectively.SBI is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 658. HDFC Bank at Rs 522 (up Rs 3) and ICICI Bank (up a rupee to Rs 372) are unchanged from their earlier gains.
