National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) is set to launch revamped contracts of guar seed and mustard seed by end of the year, Chief Executive Officer Anil Mishra said.
"We are currently in discussion with stakeholders in these commodities to create contracts that are in line with market requirements. The contracts should be ready in a month and the launch will be by end-December," Mishra said.
NMCE has been re-launching some of its existing contracts with variations to boost volumes and trade participation.
"Recently launched cotton and robusta coffee contracts are doing extremely well and we hope that volumes, especially in coffee will pick up further when the season begins in January," he said. Mishra said the exchange was also eyeing launch of an arabica coffee contract in future.
He was speaking on the sidelines of a Warehousing-2008 meet, organised by ministry of consumer affairs-department of food and public distribution along with Central Warehousing Corporation, Food Corporation of India, FMC, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
