Non-basmati rice decline on increased supply

In restricted activity, non-basmati rice prices fell by Rs 25 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today owing to reduced offtake by stockists and retailers against increased arrivals.

Traders said reduced offtake by stockists and retailers against increased arrivals led to decline in wholesale non-basmati rice prices.

In the rice section, permal raw, wand, sela and IR-8 were down by Rs 25 each to Rs 1,875-1,925, Rs 2,000-2,150, Rs 2,165-2,220 and Rs 1,685-1,710 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 1,650-1,765, wheat dara (for mills) 1,260-1,265 chakki atta (delivery) 1,250-1,255, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 175, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 175, Roller flour mill 665-685 (50 kg), Maida 760-790 (50 kilos) and Sooji 885-905 (50 kg)

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,300, Super basmati rice 9,000, Basmati common 5,600-5,700, rice Pusa-(1121) 4,650-5,250, Permal raw 1,875-1,925, Permal wand 2,000-2,150
