Markets continued to move sideways with oil & gas, auto and metal stocks leading gains. The Sensex was up 157 points at 18,397. Nifty was up 53 points at 5,524.

The markets continue to edge higher into the second hour of trading on account of the gains witnessed in the Oil& Gas space. Currently the Sensex is up 175 points at 18,416 and the Nifty has added 57 points at 5,528.
The upstream oil Company, ONGC is the top mover among the Sensex stocks contributing 35 points in the upmove. HDFC, L&T and Reliance Industries added another55 points. In the broader markets, the smallcap and the midcap indices are up 0.8% and 0.7% underperforming the Sensex gaining 0.9%.
Among the sectoral indices, other than Oil& Gas, PSU, Auto, Metal and Capital Goods are leading the gains in the morning trades. On the other hand, FMCG index after briefly dipping into the negative have turned flat with 0.1% gain.
The top losers among the Sensex stocks in an otherwise buoyant market are Hero Honda down 0.6% followed by Infosys, Maruti Suzuki losing 0.1% each.
ONGC up 5% followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, HDFC, DLF, Cipla and Tata Steel adding between 1-3% are the top Sensex gainers.
The market breadth is very positive. Of the total 2319 stocks traded on the BSE, 1452 stocks have advanced while 769 declined.
