Oilmeal exports in the month of April was up by 20% to 236,835 tonnes on the back of higher rapeseed meal exports, according to data released by Solvent Extractors Association of India.
Heavy demand for rapeseed meal came in from South Korea and Thailand. However, soymeal exports saw a drastic fall in exports due to high prices of soybean as well as disparity in crushing and exports.
Also, on the domestic market soybean is not available for crushing due to which crushing activity in the country has seen a drop. Also, Indian prices of soymeal is higher than that of competing countries which is also impacting exports.
