Crude palm oil prices softened by 0.21% to Rs 533.30 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced holdings due to low demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February softened by Rs 1.10, or 0.21%, to Rs 533.30 per 10 kg in business turnover of 89 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January shed 90 paise, or 0.17%, to Rs 529.20 per 10 kg in 32 lots.
Analysts said the weakness in crude palm oil at futures trade was due to offloading of positions by speculators on low demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
