Crude palm oil prices declined by 0.21% to Rs 573 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in April declined by Rs 1.20, or 0.21% to Rs 573 per 10 kg in business turnover of 62 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May contract traded lower by 80 paise, or 0.14% to Rs 564.50 per 10 kg in 14 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at current levels, subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
