Palmolein and soyabean oil prices rose up to Rs 30 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on fresh buying by vanaspati millers to meet the ongoing marriage season demand amid firming global trend.
Buying activity gathered momentum as palm oil rebounded from its lowest level in three months, in the global markets, after Malaysia, the world's second-biggest producer, predicted "strong demand" and higher prices for the vegetable oil this year.
Meanwhile, palm oil futures for delivery in May advanced 1.2 per cent to $1,146 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) rose by Rs 30 to Rs 6,250, while plamolein (rbd) and palmolein (kandla) gained Rs 20 each to Rs 5,920 and Rs 5,720 per quintal, respectively. "
