Prices of palmolein and soyabean oils rose up to Rs 20 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today largely on the back of a firm global trend.
However, non-edible oils remained flat in restricted activity.
Sentiment turned better after palm oil gained in Malaysia on concerns that demand for vegetable oils will exceed supplies as adverse weather threatens to delay sowing of soybeans in Brazil and Argentina.
Meanwhile, palm oil futures for the January-delivery contract up by one per cent to $1,085 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
In the national capital,soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Delhi) recovered by Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 5700 and Rs 5060, while palmolein (rbd) gained Rs 10 to Rs 5610 per quintal.
