State-run trading company PEC has invited bids for import of 25,000 tonnes of Canadian yellow peas to be delivered by September.
Bids will close on August 8 and the decision on the tender will be taken by August 13, the company said.
PEC said that yellow peas, grown in the 2009 crop year, should be sourced from Canada. Bidders should ensure that the shipment reaches the Mumbai port by next month.
In a separate tender, the company has called bids for import of 1,500 tonnes of crude degummed soyabean oil. Bids will close on August 10 and the decision on the same will be taken the next day.
Bidders should source soyabean oil from either Brazil or Argentina, PEC said, adding that the consignment should reach Kandla port, Gujarat by this month-end.
India imports pulses and edible oil as domestic supply is short of demand.
