Pepper declines on subdued demand

Pepper prices declined at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and bulk traders on the back of sluggish exports amid increased arrivals. 

Black pepper fell by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 295/325 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 305/325.  

Meanwhile, other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs, with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 295/325 (305/325), ginger bleached (per kg) 175 (175), ginger unbleached (per kg) 205 (205), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,800 (6,800)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,700(6,700), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,200 (8,200) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,800)
