Black pepper and jeera prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal each, in the national capital today, as demand from retailers and stockists declined.

Adequate stocks followed by fresh arrivals from the producing belts also kept pressure on the prices. Black pepper prices declined by Rs 100, to conclude at Rs 18,800-18,900 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded lower at Rs 12,600-12,900 and Rs 13,700-14,200, against the previous closing of Rs 12,700-13,000 and Rs 13,800-14,300 per quintal.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by local parties and weak exports demand pulled down pepper and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 14,000-19,000, black pepper common 18,800-18,900, betelnut (kg) 85-105, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 775-780 and cardamom brown -Kanchicut (kg) 875-1000
