Black pepper and jeera prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today due to higher arrivals in the domestic markets amid weak local and export demand.

Weak trends in futures trade and increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices. Black pepper prices declined by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 28,600-29,800 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also drifted by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 14,500-14,800 and Rs 16,700-16,800 per quintal, respectively.

Market analysts said increased arrivals from producing belts against weak local and export demand, mainly attributed fall in pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
