Black pepper and jeera prices fell by up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today, largely influenced by sluggish demand from stockists and exporters amid adequate stocks position.

Black pepper prices fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 23,300-23,500 per quintal.

Similarly, jeera common and jeera best quality fell by Rs 300 to close at Rs 15,300-15,500 and Rs 17,000-17,800 per quintal, respectively.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters mainly pulled down pepper and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Ajwain 16,000-21,000, black pepper common 23,300-23,500, betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,010, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,300.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,000-1,020, cardamom (colour robin) 980-1,010, cardamom bold 1,000-1,030, cardamom extra (bold) 1,100-1,200 and cloves (kg) 330-430.
